'What a Wonderful World'

The UK’s biggest ever celebration of community Action to tackle climate change and celebration of nature – everyone’s invited. We have several EWG events on that week to enable us to connect with and appreciate nature and to raise awareness of the impact of climate change.

Firstly
EWG is flagging up these great Cumbria Wildlife Trust Big Buzz local events
Saturday 24th Sept 
Pop-up science café House Museum, Carlisle, where the historic and important natural history collection will be opened for the day, giving you a unique chance to get a closer look at the natural wonders housed in the museum.
The Big Plant at The Swifts, Carlisle. Come and join us to plant around 4,000 wildlife-friendly plants to help make a difference for bees and other pollinators.

Sunday 25th Sept 10am-4pm, Gosling Sike 
Discover how to get your garden buzzing with wildlife. See behind the scenes at the Gosling Sike wildflower nursery and seedbank. Enjoy nature inspired folklore and stories. Try your hand at lots of wildlife themed art and craft activities.
Drop in activities available on the day, booking is not required for these:
Pond dipping: 11am – 12.30pm and 1.30pm – 15.00
Bug hunt Guided nature walks, 45 mins from: 11.30pm, 1pm and 2.30pm
All day activities: Wildlife themed arts and crafts for children/ Pop-up plant and garden product sale/ Get creative drop in arts and creative writing activities for all ages/ Open garden and self-led trails. Refreshments available to buy.

Anyone can come – there will be more experienced artist who will share skills – come if you want to start drawing/painting - if you wish to develop your drawing/painting - if you enjoy drawing/painting and want to be encouraged by being with others. £3 donation covers costs.
