David (and Ruth) Craven
Priest in Charge and Rector
David is the Priest in Charge and Rector (Minister) of the four churches of Croglin; Holme Eden and Wetheral with Warwick.
Born in 1980 in York, he grew up in a village outside the market town of Selby. He first felt God calling him to ordained ministry aged just 13 having become involved with his local village church. After gaining his BA in Linguistics with the English Language at Bangor University, David spent 18 months working as a Lay Assistant at a church in the Black Country, before training for full time gospel ministry at Wycliffe Hall, Oxford gaining his BTh in Theology.
David is married to Ruth and before taking up his appointment here in 2009 he served as Assistant Curate in the parishes following his ordination at Carlisle cathedral in 2006.
David is a council member of the Fellowship of Word and Spirit, and a supporter of The Latimer Trust and The Proclamation Trust. He is also a member of Reform and Church Society. At a local level David is a committee member of Living Word and is involved in the Carlisle Diocesan Evangelical Fellowship.
In his spare time he enjoys walking, murder mysteries and jigsaws.
